The South Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America cordially invites you to join our fellow car enthusiasts for our Fall Foliage Fling Road Rally. The rally starts at Ciocca Corvette in Atlantic City NJ on October 26, 2024 with check in time of 9:00 am. The rally will be about a 4 hour 80 mile drive on all paved back roads through sparsely populated southern NJ, finishing at the Oyster Creek Resurant and Boat Bar in Leeds Point NJ. You and your teammate, as Driver and Navigator, will follow written route instructions at assigned average speeds. Average speeds are always at or below the speed limit for the road. You will have your time of arrival at each checkpoint recorded. The goal is to arrive at each checkpoint precisely on time. Penalty points are given equally for arriving to early (to fast) or to late (to slow). Awards will be presented in
eligible classes at the finish about 3pm.
No prior rally experience is necessary. This rally is designed to be accessible for teams new to the sport while still being a challenge for experienced teams. There are no tricky instructions. There is a 50 car/small truck limit to the number of entries.
The rally will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will, within a tenth of a seconds, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally. Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app.
You only need the following things:
Any 4 wheeled street legal and insured car or small truck.
A team of two people consisting of a driver and navigator.
Driver must posse a current driver’s license.
Pay the entry fee of $30 per car ($15.00 per person). All cars with an SCCA member on the team will only pay $30 per car to enter. Cars with no SCCA members must pay an additional $15 for SCCA membership for the weekend and be covered by our club insurance.
The rally starts at Ciocca Corvette (430 N Albany Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401). Day of event check in begins at 9:00 am, Contestants meeting at 10 am, Rally begins at 10:30 am.
The rally finishes at the Oyster Creek Restaurant and Boat Bar (41 N Oyster Creek Rd Leeds Point, NJ 08220). First car should finish about 2:00pm. Trophy presentation will be about 3:00.
Select a Class as described below: Newbies should enter Stock
Stock: No limit on road rally calculating equipment but your mileage must be measured by the vehicle’s stock odometer located in its’ stock position.
Open: No limit on your road rally equipment, trophy eligible at 5 cars entering this class.
